General Questions
Are you open throughout the year?
Yes we are.
Can we arrive & depart on any day of the week?
Yes.
What is the weather like?
From May to September, the weather is generally settled, with lots of gloriously warm sunny days. Although July & August can be very hot, this is non-humid heat and, since activities are scheduled to avoid the hottest parts of the day, most people from northern climates can adjust more easily than they might imagine. (Unlike most of Spain, the weather in Antequera has become milder rather than more extreme in the past 5 years.)
From October to April there are lots of gloriously sunny days. The daytime temperature ranges between 10-18 Centigrade (50-65 Fahrenheit), but the weather can be cold and rain is a distinct possibility (particularly from December to February), though it often lasts only a few hours. Antequera´s pleasant, non-humid microclimate is due to the Torcal Mountains, which usually hold back the rain clouds until they disperse.
Which is the best airport to fly in to?
It's a toss-up between Granada & Malaga. Both are less than 1 hour's drive away. Seville airport is only 90 minutes away. (In 2009, when the new "bullet train" comes into service, Seville will be just 40 minutes away.)
Do I need a hire car?
Not in the town or to travel between cities. The hotel Finca Eslava has an excellent restaurant and is short walk or taxi ride from the centre of town. The townhouses are in a quiet area within easy walking distance of the town centre. However, a hire car is a good idea if you want to visit country locations or explore Andalucia.
How far away is the nearest pub/restaurant/town?
Antequera is a large town - one of the oldest, best kept and most beautiful in Andalucia. It has all of the amenities that one is likely to need, including lots of shops, restaurants, parks, play-grounds, museums, a castle, musical & film events for all ages, outdoor cafes, and nightclubs.
Do you charge a supplement for single travelers?
No. We usually give a discount to those who wish to share a room.
How many people can sleep in the townhouses?
Townhouse 1 is "studio-style" with 2 double bedrooms, and an extra sleeping niche for young people. It is best suited for a couple, a family of up to 5, or 2 couples who arrive together.
Townhouse 2 has 3 separate bedrooms, 2 of which are en-suite and all of which have space for a supplementary bed. There is also a sofabed in the lounge. Therefore, this townhouse could comfortably accommodate up to 7 people (depending on the composition of the group).
Could we hire both townhouses?
You certainly could. They are within a 2-minute walk of each other.

Fitness & Weight-Management Holidays
What's the difference between a Fitness and a weight-loss break?
The difference is in the emphasis given to weight-loss. A fitness break is focused on improving fitness, with due regard to good nutrition. However, both courses can be completely tailored to your own requirements.
How many other people will be on the fitness or weight-loss holiday?
The courses are usually organised for 6 people. However, if you would prefer, we can organise a totally private course, during which you would have our totally undivided attention.
How long is a fitness or weight-loss course?
As long as you want. We have achieved great results in as little as 3 nights; many guests stay for 3 to 4 weeks.
How fit do I need to be?
There is no minimum requirement, but courses are organised to suit guests of similar abilities and interests. If you are very concerned about your health or level of fitness, you may wish to consider joining us for a private course.
What can I expect to achieve?
Whether you choose a fitness or a weight-management course, you will not only improve your fitness, but also lose weight, de-stress and really get started on a fitter and healthier way of life. You will also be equipped with the knowledge & confidence to continue to work towards your own health & fitness goals when you leave.
What exercises & activities do you do; and do I have to do them all?
The courses are generally based on cycling (road or mountain biking), hiking/power-walking & running. We also do circuit training, weight training, swimming & cardiovascular routines using a variety of gym equipment. None of the activities are compulsory; your course will be tailored to what you want to do.
What does a typical day consist of?
As each course is tailor-made, there are few typical days. Most days will start with a "good morning" limbering-up session, followed by a short run or power-walk before breakfast. There may then be a hike or cycle before lunch; followed by resistance or CV training, swimming, a flexibility session and a massage after lunch. On some days, we often do longer hikes or rides that may take all day. There will also be discussion sessions on fitness training & nutrition.
Do you cater for vegetarians?
Yes.
What extras do I have to pay for?
Your course fee includes everything from airport collection to drop-off. The only extras are those activities detailed on the prices page. These are: motivational coaching, pro-tennis coaching, microlight flights, skiing, jeep safaris, parachuting & horse riding.
What happens on a family fitness holiday?
Exactly what you want. Family fitness holidays are all tailored to your own requirements.
What is so special about your fitness and weight-management programmes?

Mountain Biking Holidays
What sort of routes do you ride?
Beautiful, varied & interesting routes that are heavy on tracks & paths, but light on roads. We have very little technical downhill riding, so, if you are used to riding full suss with loads of travel and dressing from head to toe in body armour, please only give us a call when you fancy a change.
Can I hire a bike and, if so, what are your hire bikes like?
We have a selection of bikes for hire. There is one full-suss, the rest are hard tails. They are generally better than most people are riding at home. Please give us a call to discuss your requirements.
How fit do I have to be?
We have no minimum group size, so courses can be tailor-made to suit your levels of fitness & experience. (Subject to availability.)
Me and my mates/partner enjoy riding together, but we are all different fitness levels. Can you cater for us?
It's our speciality! We arrange the routes to allow for some guests to be picked-up before others, to ensure that everyone has a great day out.
